Source: nra-ila-updates On November 30, 2009, the Bloomington Herald-Times made the following announcement: A Baltimore jury convicted Mayor Sheila Dixon on one count of fraudulent misappropriation by a fiduciary. A Palmer city law that blocked people from carrying guns in city parks and other places was tossed out last week after a local man pointed out the rule infringed on people’s Second Amendment rights. If Raymore City Councilman Jeff Cox gets his wish, he and his colleagues soon will be able to carry a concealed weapon during meetings. Americans by a significant majority support the individual right to keep and bear arms – as definitively recognized by the U.S. Supreme Court in the Heller decision last summer, which held that the Washington, D.C. gun ban was unconstitutional. Predictably, many anti gun advocates in the nation’s capitol and elsewhere are refusing to recognize [...] You have probably heard it said that guns have two enemies: rust and politicians. Of the two, by far the most menacing threat today is the latter. Of those, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg ranks near the top of the list. 84-year-old World War II veteran and longtime NRA Member, Donald Kaighn of Ridley Township, Pa., defended his home from a violent intruder.
