California: San Mateo County retreats from proposed gun laws

A San Mateo County supervisor is backing away from a pair of laws she proposed to curb gun violence among local youths.
In a memo to Board President Mark Church released late Monday, Supervisor Rose Jacobs Gibson asked that a discussion of the proposed ordinances be pulled from today’s meeting agenda. Her request followed the National Rifle Association’s announcement last week that it would sue the county if the laws are passed.
