Philippines: Commission on Elections issues guidelines on total gun ban

The Commission on Elections (Comelec) yesterday imposed a total gun ban by recalling the firearms permits of government security forces as well as private individuals acting as bodyguards of politicians.
The total gun ban would be implemented for the duration of the election period from Jan. 10 to June 9, 2010.
