South Carolina: Georgetown schools rethink ban on guns

Georgetown County School District’s policy barring concealed weapons on school property is at odds with state law, according to an opinion issued by S.C. Attorney General Henry McMaster.
In response, the school board will revisit the policy it passed in October when it meets on Jan. 5. The revisions passed in October prohibit visitors, parents, teachers and students from carrying weapons on any school property including parking lots, even if they have a concealed weapons permit.
