Florida: Owning a gun not a factor in whether you can adopt

The state Department of Children Families will no longer document whether prospective foster parents own a gun.
According to a Dec. 2 memorandum, DCF officials will discuss gun safety but won’t document whether prospective parents have guns. Prospective parents must sign forms saying they’re aware that Florida law requires people with loaded firearms keep them in a locked, secure place away from children.
